Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has etched his name deeper into football history by becoming the fastest player ever to reach 60 goals in the UEFA Champions League.

The Norwegian powerhouse achieved the incredible milestone during a match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium. Although Manchester City fell to a 4-2 defeat after a tough first half, Haaland's brace pushed his career tally in Europe's elite club competition to 61 goals in just 60 appearances.

By hitting the 60-goal mark in exactly 60 matches, Haaland shattered the previous efficiency record held by Lionel Messi, who required 80 games to reach the same milestone. Furthermore, at 26 years and 85 days old, Haaland officially surpassed Messi to become the youngest player in Champions League history to score 60 goals, beating the previous record by a single day. Outpacing legendary names like Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappé, and Cristiano Ronaldo over their first 60 appearances, Haaland continues to redefine goalscoring standards on the continental stage.

Erling Haaland’s career is one of the most prolific trajectories in football history. Starting at Norway’s Bryne and Molde, he burst onto the global stage with Red Bull Salzburg by becoming the first teenager to score in five consecutive Champions League matches. He then dominated the German Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 86 goals in 89 games, before moving to Manchester City in 2022 where he shattered the Premier League single-season scoring record (36 goals) and won a historic Treble.

He holds the record as the fastest and youngest player to reach 60 UEFA Champions League goals—doing so in just 60 matches at 26 years and 85 days old, shattering Lionel Messi's previous milestones. Combining elite physical power, pace, and clinical finishing, Haaland continues to rewrite the sport's record books at a staggering pace.

With a career built on shattering milestones at a terrifying pace, it’s safe to say Haaland will continue to break even more records for years to come.
